Bathroom cabinet
For a family house in Brussels
It was a challenge to make this piece in solid wood because of the humid space such as the bathroom. I chose American maple, because it is more stable, and fumed oak. The interiors of the drawers are made from padauk, which is a very stable species.
I used appropriate wood joints taking into account the wood’s movement. The drawerfronts are cut out of one piece of maple which allows the continuity of the wood pattern.
